Arch. Milena Nanova

Arch. Milena Nanova was born in Sofia in 1961.

In 1987 she graduated from the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy in Sofia, in the Department of Public Buildings. That same year she started working as a designer at Sportproject - Sofia. In 1994 she was appointed a lecturer in the Department of Residential Buildings at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG), where she is currently leading courses and diploma projects as well as giving lectures in the field of housing policy and the renovation of residential areas.
Milena specialized at the University of Lincoln and Humberside, UK. She participated in international projects under the TEMPUS Program for the development of a program for urban education at UACEG, as well as in a project of the British Council for exploring the possibilities for reconstruction of panel residential complexes in Bulgaria.
In 2001, she became a co-founder and partner of STUDIO 17.5, and at the end of 2007 – manager and partner of Studio 17.5-M together with arch. Plamen Mihailov. Her professional development is associated with a leading role in the design and management of a number of large sites, more important of which - Mall Sofia, Mall Plovdiv, Serdika Center, Bulgaria Mall, Sliven Shopping Center, Belle Valley complex and others. Some of her projects have won awards including "Building of the Year", as well as awards and diplomas of the Union of Architects in Bulgaria.
